WILL OF THE FATHER

Jesus did do the will of the Father and willingly laid down His life to pay every believer’s passage into heaven.

For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me (John 6:38).
just as the Father knows me and I know the Father--and I lay down my life for the sheep. (John 10:15)
No one has taken it away from Me, but I lay it down on My own initiative. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. (John 10:18 NASB)

JESUS MADE HIS GOALS CLEAR

Jesus made it clear what His assignment was. He explained He was here to:

do the will of His father
destroy the works of Satan
to bring abundant life to His followers
to liquidate the Old Testament mediated system and replace it with His new model
reverse Satan's control over mankind
absorb all sin
reconcile humanity back to God and God back to humanity
- The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have abundant life…(John 10:10)
- The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil. (1 John 3:8)
