Some History

Before Jesus came to earth, He was the Son of God. In the beginning was the Word, in heaven. On earth, Jesus became the Son of man, the Messiah, the Word became flesh. Now Jesus is the 2nd person of God, at the right hand of God the Father in heaven.

Real Leadership Qualifications

Jesus is the only worthy world leader. The reason why this is so true is that all human leaders send their followers to die for them, then they step in, take the spoils of war and benefit by everybody else's sacrifice. Jesus qualified Himself as total leadership worthiness, due to the fact that He died for his followers, ended death, destroyed the works of the enemy and brought Holy Spirit to distribute abundant life to all humanity. Does anybody else even come close to this? It is nice that society does have reputable civic, economic, and social leaders, but when they begin to overshadow Jesus in popularity we need to recalibrate our thinking. Blood Relationship is Qualifications #1

In order to fulfill the role of Redeemer, Jesus had redeemer qualifications to uphold:

1. He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. Jesus demonstrated exemplary behavior here. I think He rewrote the standard for humility.

Ability To Pay is Qualifications #2

2. Ability To Pay; His innocent and pure blood qualified Him for the role of the Lamb of God to take away sins. All believers were purchased with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a sacrificial lamb. Jesus knew He was the only one who qualified to get mankind out of the sinner category, and He persevered accordingly and accomplished His mission.

Willingness To Redeem is Qualifications #3

3. Willingness To Redeem; Jesus, the Son of Man came not to be waited on but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many [the price paid to set them free]. Matt 20:28

I lay down My life for the sheep
Who gave Himself on our behalf that He might redeem us (purchase our freedom) from all iniquity and purify for Himself a people, to be His own
